I'm an engineering student, athlete, and the author of An Unwinnable Game, a memoir of my three years in prostitution and the subculture surrounding it.
I wrote the book alongside university, rowing, and work (apparently not the best for my sleep schedule) with a persistent feeling that I couldn't wait much longer to put this story into the world.
I've never been convinced by the idea that there is such a thing as "too young" to write a memoir. I'll almost certainly be wiser in another twenty or thirty years, sure, but I'll also be farther removed from the person I was in the years this book is about -- my memories of those years will be hazier, and I think that is for the better. To me, writing the book now is a way of preserving that perspective rather than replacing it with hindsight.
Writing An Unwinnable Game is my journey in making sense of an experience that I'm still close enough to remember clearly, yet far enough away from to examine critically.
For privacy reasons, I'm deliberately keeping my identity limited in the public sphere while I build a career beyond the sex trade.
